416 East Lee Street, Raleigh, NC
Junious Sorrell Park was renovated in 2017 and is a great place for young toddlers to play! The park is fully gated and has the rubberized surface we all love!

The playground has equipment that sits low to the ground and there is partial shade from the surrounding trees. There are some drums to bang on, plus a cute puppet theater. You’ll also find some traditional and bucket swings if you have a kid that likes to soar!

There is an unshaded picnic table and a grassy area in the shade, which is perfect for a picnic or quick snack. My kids eat no less than 32 snacks a day so we’re always on the lookout for a great picnic spot!

Junious Sorrell Park is situated just south of downtown Raleigh. You’ll find it within a small neighborhood located between Marbles and Walnut Creek Wetland Center. It’s a little off the beaten path for us, but if you are in the area it’s worth stopping by.
The only con here is that it is a neighborhood playground and there are no bathrooms here, similar to Long Street Park.
