Little Doodles Play Café has expanded and opened a second location in downtown Wendell! It is almost identical to the original Little Doodles we all know and love located over on Glenwood, however it’s a bit bigger and much more convenient to those that live more towards the East side of Raleigh!
Open Play Cafe
Little Doodles Wendell is a play café concept where the kids play so the adults get a break and a cup of coffee! The play area is filled with lots of creative toys so kids can use their imagination and be entertained for hours. They have a small pirate ship, grocery store, diner, barn, car mechanic shop, and soft play for babies. My 4 year old spent his whole time at the train table, while my 5 and 7 year old enjoyed the barn and messy art studio.

Messy Art Studio
The messy art studio located in the back of the play café is included in your admission price! There is paper, paint, play-doh, and other art supplies available for your kids to go wild! My kids enjoyed painting to their heart’s content and I enjoyed not having to worry about paint getting on my carpet! There are aprons to prevent messy clothes and a sink in the room for easy clean up.
If you want to upgrade your messy art, there are some 3D wooden objects you can paint for an extra fee. My kids were happy with the paper and paint, but this could serve as some great gifts for family and friends!
Snack and Coffee Bar
In addition to the play area there’s a large seating area for the adults, and coffee and snacks can be purchased at the snack bar. They ask that you do not bring any outside food and drink and only purchase from their snack stand. They offer basic self-serve coffee, plus some fancier barista drinks like cappuccino and cold brew, but they do NOT serve alcohol like Bumble Brews does. Snacks ranged from gummies to goldfish, so you know the kids will be taken care of!
My husband was able to visit the play café with me and we were able to sip coffee and chat while the kids played. It was almost like we were on a kid-free date and it was so nice to have an uninterrupted conversation!
Admission and Hours
Little Doodles Wendell just had their grand opening on Monday, January 3, 2022. Their current open play hours are listed below, but check their Facebook page for updates. Admission is $10 for the first child, $8 for additional children, and parents play free! They do offer monthly and annual family memberships if you plan on visiting frequently.

I think this new spot in Wendell is a great addition to the downtown area and I know it will be on our list of stops the next time we’re in the area. Wendell hosts lots of fun events downtown, so it will be so nice to stop in for an inside play break at Little Doodles Wendell!
