Since we’re all stuck at home, now is a great time to try out a new subscription box! We recently received our very first Little Passports Early Explorers box especially curated for kids ages 3 to 5. It had a lot of fun activities for the kids, and it taught them geography and interesting facts about the world around them.
Our first Little Passports box included:
- A fun orange suitcase
- Wall-sized world map
- Luggage tag
- Stickers, photo and activity booklet
- A welcome letter from new pen pals Max, Mia and Toby
A sturdy suitcase for little hands
My kids absolutely love the suitcase. It was by far their favorite part of the box. What kid doesn’t love putting all of their treasures in a box and carrying it around the house?! Hopefully not just mine!
The suitcase was made of heavy duty cardboard. It was sturdy enough for the little ones, although it definitely won’t last forever. Our box also came with a luggage tag and stickers of various locations to decorate the suitcase with. The stickers were a huge hit, and I was able to tell them each location as they stuck it to the suitcase.
Activity Pack and World Map
I let my oldest child (5 years old) do the activity pack. My 3 year old probably could have done it as well, but she was busy with the stickers!
The activity pack had a color-coded continent matching game that corresponded with the world map sent in our box. There was also an activity where the kids had to write out the name of the ocean, and I pointed it out on the map so they knew where it was. This was good review for me because the only two oceans I ever think about are the Atlantic and Pacific! 🤣
The world map was made out a plastic sheet, so it will definitely last a while! I was excited to get it and it’s still hanging up on our playroom wall. The kids will randomly point at different land masses and ask me about them throughout our day.
Landmark Flashlight Book
Another favorite was the landmark flashlight book (no flashlight required). This reminded me so much of an Usborne book! You use a white piece of paper shaped like a flashlight and slide it behind a dark screen to “illuminate’ a famous landmark. My kids totally fought over this little book because they loved it so much! I enjoyed seeing famous landmarks and telling the kids about them, including my experiences visiting some of them when I was younger!
Age Range and Other Subscriptions
All Little Passport Early Explorers subscribers will receive this travelers kit as their first box. After the first month, your child will receive a different themed package with an interactive souvenir, activity booklet, stickers, and more. The themes in each box include landmarks, music, animals, food, art, oceans, natural wonders, world coins, space, world discoveries, dinosaurs, science, celebrations, habitats, transportation, insects, and sports.
The Early Explorers subscription is recommended for children 3 to 5 years old. The recommended age range for other Little Passport subscriptions are: 6 to 10 years old for World Edition, 5 to 8 years old for Science Junior, 7 to 12 for USA Edition, and 9+ for our Science Expeditions. I’m interested in getting the World Edition box for my oldest once she starts school as I think it would be a great way to include a little extra geography in her education!
