This is a small neighborhood playground in north Raleigh. It is one of the smaller playgrounds I have been too. I should mention up front that there are no bathroom facilities, porta-potties or otherwise. I imagine that it is mostly used by neighborhood residents, we had the place to ourselves. Since it is pretty small we did not spend much time there (maybe 45 minutes) and bathrooms were not an issue.
Although I do have a strong preference to parks with bathrooms.
Both my kids loved this dog:
And check out this super cute puppet show area:
Yes, that is my daughter running in the background. Both kids loved running the bridge on the older children’s playground. There is also a sand area that is pretty separated from the rubberized playground area
It is partially fenced in and has 2 swings: on belt and one bucket swing.
We were there around 10:30 to 11 am and the big kids area was pretty shaded but the toddler area and sand area was mostly in the sun.
The parent benches were also in the sun, as was the picnic table. Parking is only on the street adjacent to the park.
Pro’s
- Cute little park, especially if you live in the neighborhood
- Rubberized surface, partially shaded
Con’s
- NO bathroom of any kind. So maybe not a great place if you are potty training
- Partially fenced but not totally enclosed. It is adjacent to neighborhood roads that have some traffic. Looking for fully fenced in parks? See Abbotts Creek Park, Eastgate Park
Bottom line? It is a cute park, but I wouldn’t go out of your way for it.
