1122 N. Blount Street. Raleigh, NC
We recently had a picnic at Mordecai Historic Park, and afterwards swung by Mordecai Mini Park to see the nearby playground! Unfortunately the park was closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we were still able to check it out and plan to come back once it reopens!
Playground
Mordecai Mini Park is mostly a sand surface playground, but it does have some mulch surfaces as well. The park is entirely fenced in and receives a lot of shade from nearby trees. It honestly reminded me a lot of Eastgate Park, except much smaller.
Lower Tot Lot
I also liked that the park was split into two sections. The lower part looks great for young toddlers since it has much smaller play structures. My 2 year old would be all over that red firetruck!

Picnic Tables
There’s a couple picnic tables right in the middle of the park, so caregivers can rest and still have eyes on both sections of the playground. Bring some sand toys and let the kids go to town while you sit back and relax!
