Rainbow playroom is one of my favorite indoor play spaces, especially if it is a day I want to be a lazy parent. Once your child is able to manage all the equipment, it is a sit back and supervise kind of environment. In fact, I am at Rainbow play room writing this review using their free wi-fi while my kids burn off some energy!
It’s a great location for play dates because you can occasionally squeeze in some adult conversation. Open Play is generally available Monday through Friday from 10am-2pm, but check their website before you go as hours can vary depending on if they have parties scheduled that day. They update their hours daily and I’ve seen it open as late as 7pm.
Price is $5 per child, adults and children under 2 are free admission. Save yourself a bit of time and complete the waiver online here. You can also buy a 10 visit punch pass to save a little bit of money!
Smaller Play Area for Tots
For younger tots there is an attached smaller play area they can enjoy that is partially fenced off from the main playground so they don’t get trampled by the bigger kids. The floor is foam tiles, which is a nice and forgiving surface for falls.
Bathrooms are located just across the hall way with a changing table available.
Picnic tables and chairs surround the play area, and they allow you to bring your own drinks and snacks. I have camped out here 3-4 hours at a time, that’s how much my kids enjoy playing here! We almost always bring a lunch and there are a few high chairs for little ones to sit in and snack.
Birthday Parties
I have both hosted and attended birthday parties at Rainbow playroom. If you are looking for something that is fun but unstructured, then this place is awesome. It is really nice that I can still have some creativity with food and decorations.
Really, I like the planning of birthday parties, I just don’t have a great space in my home to throw them. I love a low key birthday party at a picnic shelter at a playground, but then you have to worry about the weather. Rainbow playroom is the indoor version of a park birthday. You provide your own food, decorations, and music. They provide an awesome play space that is totally yours for the duration of the party. Prices are reasonable too, listed below.
We did a Thursday evening birthday, as did one of our friends. It was nice not to have to try to cram another activity into the weekend. Kids were exhausted and went to bed great, no problems getting up Friday for school. Plus, you can save some serious cash during the week. If you want an all-inclusive birthday party experience, this is not it. But if you want to provide a few things and have a fun play space, this place could be a perfect fit!
We did a rainbows and super heroes birthday party here, my daughter’s 2 favorite things at the time. When the kids arrived we gave them a gift bag with a super hero mask and cape and a super hero glider. Set out some snacks and sandwiches and turned the kids loose to have fun. Turned out great and there is a good chance we will have future birthday parties here.
