This week’s forecast doesn’t look too promising, so besides our virtual Calendar of Events, we thought it would be nice to gather a list of fun rainy day activities to do inside with the kids! See below for lots of ideas to fill your days indoors! (Post contains affiliate links)
🌧️ Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles. I feel like we’ve put together no less than 154 puzzles this quarantine.
🌧️ Grab the jungle jumparoo for some bouncy indoor fun! The kids can get their energy out on a safe bouncing and climbing play place! #ad

🌧️ Make a stepping stone for your garden

🌧️Do a color scavenger hunt with your toys. Make the kids find more of one color to make it last longer, or move to an alphabet scavenger hunt for older kids!
🌧️Bake your own bread in a bag. This doubles as science and math all in one!
🌧️Take a drive through the rain and point out things you see. Visit the Raleigh Road Outdoor Cinema rain or shine!
🌧️Sort things by color in muffin tins (beads, M&Ms, etc),
🌧️Use eye droppers to move water between different containers. Use food coloring and learn about mixing colors!
🌧️Make a sensory bin with dried rice, dried beans, or dried pasta. Add toys to create a theme.
🌧️Have an indoor picnic for lunch! Eat kid kabobs or a muffin tin lunch!
🌧️Thread beads to make necklaces, or if you don’t have those you can string cheerios on uncooked spaghetti noodles for fine motor work.
🌧️Aqua beads and Perler beads can provide hours of entertainment
🌧️Make and used a tin can “telephone”
🌧️Make your own healthy popsicles with fruit and juice
🌧️Play beauty shop and let your kids do your hair and makeup. Post a picture to social media so everyone can admire their work.

🌧️Grab some pottery-to-go from Klaystation in North Raleigh!
🌧️Tie dye a shirt, or really anything for that matter!
🌧️Take your end of year school portraits right at home! You can do as many poses and outfit changes as you want!

🌧️We know you’ve got toilet paper! Use those cardboard rolls for an intricate car ramp system, or attach them to the wall and roll marbles through them.
🌧️Play basketball with the laundry basket and rolled up socks. Make laundry fun!
🌧️Help your kids create a story either with their toys or acting out with costumes. Film them for a movie you’ll cherish when they’re older.
🌧️Do an scavenger hunt with all those old magazines you have lying around. Have them compete to be the first one to find a picture of an animal, person, car, etc.
