Galaxy Fun Park in Wake Forest has a TON of things to do.  The main attraction is the trampoline park, but we spend most of our time in the soft play area, called Mission Control. In addition, there’s an arcade, mini-golf, laser tag, bumper cars, go-carts, virtual reality, and a ropes course that you’ll see up above your head as you play!

Mission Control Soft Play

Many of the activities at Galaxy Fun Park are geared towards school age children, but what about our readers with young children? You may not be interested in all of the activities here, but you will LOVE the Mission control soft play! It’s a 4-level, indoor, soft play playground that gives any fast food playground in the area a major run for it’s money! It costs $5 per child and adults are free.

The playground itself is manageable for 4-5 year olds and probably some adventuresome 3 year olds without assistance. Younger children will likely need some help, but they could stay on the bottom level and there’s still tons for them to do. One drawback is that adults are required to stay on the ground floor, but I have seen some climbing up to rescue young children if needed. If you are looking for a place where adults can go up to the top, try Urban Air Adventure Park.

The soft play area is fully gated with an attendant at the gate. The attendant is not supposed to let any child out without parent approval. They will allow you to leave the area and come back in if needed, and will stamp your wristband for re-entry. You can come and go to the Mission control playground multiple times in one day, so feel free to leave for a snack. You could stay onsite and utilize the awesome concession stand, or take a short walk to The Mac House, Taste of China or Fiesta Mexicana for lunch and return to play.

Concessions

Bathrooms are available and are very clean, including a family bathroom. They also have an onsite concession stand that has a pretty extensive menu including pizza, wings, cheeseburger, corn dogs, and chicken sandwiches. Outside food is discouraged but I have brought in snacks for my toddlers without any issues. Because of the restaurant area in this fun park we have added this to our list of Restaurants with play areas in Raleigh!

Arcade

Some of the arcade games are manageable for younger kids. I typically buy the $5 pass to the indoor playground (Mission control) and then $5 for arcade games. So $20 for 2 kids. Not the cheapest of excursions, but not totally unreasonable either. You can buy discounted passes for multiple attractions, but I’ve never needed this because my children are younger. But if you had an older child doing multiple activities, it would be well worth it.

One thing to note: with the noise and lights of the arcade, it’s pretty easy to get SENSORY OVERLOAD. Something to bear in mind if your child is sensitive to that.

Trampolines

The main attraction for the older kids will be trampoline play area, although it also one of the more expensive activities. They have a trampoline obstacle course, dodgeball, basketball, and a freefall jump, as well as lots of trampolines to jump on! It’s $10 for an hour, so this can add up fast if you also have to buy $2 socks for each child as well.

No matter what you choose to do, Galaxy fun park is an excellent choice for a rainy or cold day activity! According to my (Rachel’s) 6 year old daughter, it’s “the best place ever”! Well, it was until we went to Great Wolf Lodge. 🤷 At any rate, it’s definitely worth checking out. Fill out the online waiver before you go to save some time at check in!
