Looking for some indoor fun during the cold weather? Look no further than Sky Zone Raleigh! They are your traditional trampoline park, but they also offer a few unique attractions like the Ninja Warrior warped wall, wipe out challenge, and augmented climbing wall. They also offer monthly memberships for unlimited play and a toddler time for the youngest jumpers, so it’s worth a look if you haven’t been before!
Wipe Out Challenge
When we went our kids were 4.5, almost 3, and 14 months. The older two had a blast and were able to do just about everything, except I didn’t let them try the wipe out challenge. It’s game with a spinning arm that you have to jump over or be knocked down. I knew they wouldn’t be able to jump the arm and would definitely fall and cry so no use trying that! It looked super fun for older kids though!
Warped Wall
The warped wall was a lot of fun for my husband. We used to watch American Ninja Warrior so he liked to show off that he could do the same challenge those ninjas can do! He did a pretty good job and made it up to the top! Once you get up there is a fire pole to the side that you can slide back down. My toddlers weren’t successful but they had fun watching all the big kids do it!
Augmented Climbing Wall
The most popular attraction by far was the climbing wall. It was an interactive wall that would project games for the kids to complete while they climbed. For example in this game there is a bat flying around and once the kids touched it (like you see in the picture below) the bat would fly off to another location. They racked up points for how many bats they touched, and it kept them all moving and working together to touch the bat to score! It’s an insanely cool technology that I had never seen anywhere else before!
Trampoline
Of course there were TONS of trampolines so everyone could jump to their heart’s content. There was a dodge ball area and a basketball area. My 14 month old wasn’t walking yet so he just crawled around the walkways and took in all the action. They had one trampoline section closed while we were there, so I let him crawl out there by himself for a little butt bouncing. It was a pretty slow time when we went so he was safe crawling around, but I can see how if it was busier your babies might get trampled by rowdy kids running from station to station.
Foam Pit
The kids also loved jumping the foam pit, but I’ll warn you it can be really difficult to get them out. The foam kind of sucks you in and sticks to your clothes so it’s difficult to move. I had a hard time getting out myself, but luckily my kids didn’t jump as far in so we could usually pull them out pretty easily.
Memberships
Probably one of the aspects of Sky Zone Raleigh is that you can buy a monthly membership for 90 minute jumping sessions everyday. That’s a lot of bouncing!
This is a great option for home school groups to get together for physical activity and socialization, or if you just need your kid to burn some good energy every day and need a great indoor option when the weather is bad!
There’s a big seating area and I saw a lot of parents getting some work done while their kids jumped. There were lots of staff onsite making sure the kids didn’t get too rowdy so you can rest assure there are a lot of eyes on them at all times!
Special Events
You can also consider Sky Zone Raleigh for your next birthday party, and they also do some other special events onsite throughout the year. One event that caught my eye was their family night on Sunday evenings, which includes one hour jump passes for 4 and a pizza and pitcher of drinks! It’s fun for the whole family!
We’ll have to add this to our list of restaurants with play spaces since you can eat and play there!
