If you’ve been following this page for very long, you know I’m always on the hunt for new parks in the area! I hadn’t heard much about Tyler Run Park in Wake Forest so we stopped by there one evening after dinner. Unfortunately, the main focus of this park is their playground, which is currently closed due to the pandemic. However, this could be a great little playground to pop in and see once everything opens back up!

Playground

The playground is a small structure in direct sun with a mulch surface. There is a shade tree nearby with a couple picnic tables.

Baseball and Basketball

Nearby is a baseball field and a basketball court. I couldn’t get a picture of the basketball court since there was a big game going on while we were there.

Bocce Ball Court

Probably the coolest thing there was a bocce ball court. I had never actually seen one of these at a park, but we play at the beach all the time! Grab you set and play a round!

There was also a net that I assume is meant to be used as a batting cage. Can’t beat a free spot to practice your swing!

No Walking Trail

The most disappointing part of the park was the non-existent walking trail. On the town website the park is listed as having a greenway, so I thought we were going to be able to walk here, but the 0.1 mile trail just leads into a neighborhood and dead-ends. I guess you could walk through the neighborhood if you wanted to, but I thought that would be kinda weird. There is a big field you can let the kids play in though if you need to run off some steam!

it looks like a walking trail, but it’s not.

Work Out Equipment

The kids favorite part was the workout equipment. It was still open so we practiced our pull ups on the bar and sit ups on the incline bench. The kids really liked the leg machine, where you could sit facing each other and workout your thighs.

If you’re looking for more of this equipment, try Smith Creek Soccer Park or Flaherty Park.
